One thing I have always loved about the goth/industrial scene (anywhere) is how open it is to people of all types. There is a minor amount of drama as would be expected of any group of people hanging out, drinking and enjoying the fun of a night club... but overall the scene is always more accepting of people for who they are. I can definitely say it's nothing like the gay scene... something I've never really been into. As far as your concerns about gay/bisexual people attending the bar, we actually have a fair amount of both that frequent The Chamber. Hopefully, you will get a chance to stop by and check it out. I'm sure you will find it quite welcoming

Yes, I would definitely love to go to the chamber. I don't really like clubbing alone, that's why I wanted to meet people on here and get to know them a little, then meet up with them some night to go to the club together. Plus it's always nice to be able to drink if I feel like it.
I hate the gay scene, I really do. I mean, I love that there IS a gay scene now and it puts us forward so much, but... Eh... I just don't like how close minded the scene is. Every time I go to the club, I get weird looks and judgmental comments referring to how 'goth' I look most of the time, even when I'm... Not really dressed goth. I definitely don't like the gay scene much at all, not with all of their expectations about what a person is supposed to be like, gender neutral or not.

i have never seen or heard anyone at the chamber become aggressive or intolerant towards gays. Me either. And that kind of behavior wouldn't be tolerated if someone did start something.

For me personally, The Chamber has always been a safe haven. As Tangle pointed out, the goth/industrial scene is far more accepting of a wider range of people than any of the other scenes about.
Much like you, I like that there IS a gay scene, but find it highly frustrating to find such close minded idiocy among it towards its own. One would think that being gay was MORE than enough, however if you aren't an aberzombie or a buffed hottie you find that it is kind of a closed circle.
I have been going to The Chamber for years, and I have always been very open of my sexuality. I have never in all my time there had a problem and have always found the people and the scene itself to be far more accepting of personality and eccentricities than the gay world ever has.
*shrugs* Being gay or bi or anything else is just a small part of a person at the chamber and I believe you will find that it is seen as the non issue that it SHOULD be everywhere.

Being gay or bi or anything else is just a small part of a personIt alway bugs me when people focus on either one aspect of themselves as defining, or one aspect of another person that way. I mean, I sort of understand it - a person focuses on the 'contested' aspect of themselves to work through it internally and socially. But I think that it can be to the detriment of the other aspects of their person hood. Heh I knew a lesbian girl in undergrad who was totally militant butch - ie she was sort of "I'M A LESBIAN DO YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT YOU HETEROSEXUAL RAPIST MALE?". But it was like... "honey, you're at college - nobody gives a shit that you're gay. Save the acting for shocking mommy and daddy, k?"

Being gay or bi or anything else is just a small part of a person... Thank you for saying that. I'll admit I grow very tired of hearing the subject come up about me... even from my friends... not that anything bad is being said, but there is a whole lot more to who I am than my sexuality. I never think about it... why should everyone else? ;D

I'm flattered when gay guys flirt with me. . . well, except for one guy. I'm kinda scared of him.

Awww, thanks guys. I'm not very militant, I was when I was like 15 and first coming out, but good lord that was so long ago. I do know a few people who are still like that, but I dunno. If someone asks me about my sexuality I will try to calmly explain it to them, but I still get people all the time who are all "omg that's gross how can you do that?!?!?" to which I really don't know how to respond. God knows how I would tell them about my gender identity... Ahahahaha, aberzombie, I like that.
